Partnering with a Kind and Conscious Clothing Company to Give Moms a New and Joyful Way to Shop

Monica + Andy is a fast-growing organic baby and children‘s clothing company that has created a large community via their immersive in-store experiences and social media platforms. In order to offer this same experience to their online shoppers, they hired Gallardo Labs to do an extensive UX Audit of their eCommerce site monicaandandy.com, to find out how they can make it easier for consumers to find what they’re looking for, how to convey the brand digitally, and ultimately how to drive more conversions.
THE FINAL SOLUTION
Our final UX Audit delivery was a 90 page document full of discovered user friction points, areas of opportunity, and recommendations. We covered the taxonomy and site user flows holistically. We dove deep into functional and branding elements on each individual page. We also supplied screen grab references and additional thoughts, ideas, and notes for each recommendation.
A Level of Effort rating for both design and development was provided along with the recommended order of implementation and a list of quick hit items to tackle internally immediately. Because the recommendations would be actual future work tasks, the entire UX Audit document was also supplied as a working Google Spreadsheet to the team.
What’s next? Monica + Andy hired us to begin some initial optimizations of their current site while working on the longer term concept, design, and build all of the recommendations stated in the delivered UX Audit.

The first thing we did was to conduct a 2 hour interview with the main Stakeholders at Monica + Andy. During this interview, we covered Business & Brand Goals, Competition & Demographics, Known Site Issues, Available Data & User Feedback, and Current Constraints.
It was extremely insightful for us to hear directly from the team and recieve all of the testing and data collected up until that point. The current site pillars were prioritized in order of importance.
The stakeholder interview allowed us to start the audit with the proper background information and brand vision in mind.
After the Stakeholder Interview was complete and summarized, we immediately got to work. We began by doing a comprehensive competitive analysis to understand the landscape they are playing in. We also gathered notes of our favorite and not-so-favorite elements, user flows, and functionality from other highly regarded eCommerce websites.
The delivered UX Audit deck was created to inform, guide, and inspire the team at Monica + Andy. They were very pleased with the level of detail and amount of recommendations provided.
In addition to the presented PDF deck, we duplicated all of the content into a working Google Spreadsheet for the team to edit, comment on, and share. This spreadsheet contained Levels of Effort for each item recommended for implementation. This allows Monica + Andy to gauge which things will take more time and budget to create.
